2018 Update #15
The Week in Progress
So far this week things are playing out pretty much as I outlined in my weekly look ahead on Friday.
Yesterday, to manage soil erosion, subcontractor Donnelly Construction installed silt fences in Triangle Park and in the Riverfront Park section of the Marble Works (see photo). Both a silt fence and a barrier fence have been installed along the rail corridor above Otter Creek.
This morning, ECI mobilized an excavator into Printer’s Alley. A second excavator will mobilize in tomorrow and then on Thursday ECI will begin demolishing the concrete foundation of the Lazarus building. That work will take place through the end of the week, 7 AM – 5 PM. It will be intermittently noisy in the Printer’s Alley area. The forecast rain and watering by ECI will help keep down the dust.
Later today, Kubricky will begin installing construction fencing around Printer’s Alley and Triangle Park. The five parking spaces alongside Triangle Park on Main Street will be available for about another two weeks once the fencing is in place. At that point, those parking spaces will be taken by the contractor for the duration of the project to provide safe access in and out of Triangle Park.
No impact on our town roadways or sidewalks.
That’s all for today. See you downtown.
Please keep your comments and questions coming. Send me an email at jgish@townofmiddlebury.org and I’ll try to cover it in my next update.
