2020 Update #29
Downtown Main Street To Close Briefly Wednesday Morning
The Highlights
Kubricky to conduct a trial run of precast from Fifield Farm to central downtown
Main Street to close between Cross Street roundabout and Seymour Street 6:30 – 8:30 AM
Parking on South Main Street and in front of Ilsley Library temporarily cordoned off
Early Wednesday morning Kubricky will conduct a trial run of the precast tunnel pieces from the Fifield Farm marshaling yard to the intersection of Merchants Row and Main Street.
To do this safely, Main Street will be temporarily closed to thru traffic between the Cross Street roundabout and Seymour Street starting at 6:30 AM. Flaggers will be stationed at the roundabout and at Seymour Street to direct traffic around the detour.
A flatbed truck will carry a representative precast piece with a five-foot passenger-side overhang. That overhang will require temporarily cordoning off all parking on South Main Street between the golf course and the roundabout during the dry run as well as the parking spaces in front of Ilsley Library on Main Street.
Kubricky will cone off those spaces tonight.
The trial run is expected to get underway about 6:30 AM and to wrap up no later than 8:30 AM.
All Main Street traffic will be detoured to the Cross Street Bridge.
Thank you for your patience with this and other temporary disruptions as we prepare for the transition into the 10-week shutdown.
That’s all for today. See you soon.
